You know those 100-day projects? People pick an activity, anything from saying hello to a stranger to drawing a cartoon cat, and they do it, every day, for 100 days. No exceptions. Well, I’m embarking on my own 100-day project.
Every day for the next 100 days I am going to apply for a different job.
Here’s why I’m doing this: I’ve been unemployed for ten and half months, and the job search is getting old. I’ve interviewed for tons of jobs, and I’ve gotten close to getting hired several times. I interviewed for a job in Texas last January that looked amazing. I could tell the search committee loved me, and I was ready to buy some cowboy boots and move south, but then, to my dismay, I discovered they had lost funding for the position. More recently I interviewed for a position in beautiful, mountainous New Hampshire, fell in love with the idea of working there, and was ready to buy a set of skis. Except they hired someone else.
I need something to kickstart the application process, so that’s where this project comes in. I’ll be documenting both my job-hunting efforts and my unemployed lifestyle on this blog.
My title is “If I’m Still Unemployed at the End of This, I’m Quitting”. Truthfully, if I get rejected from all 100 jobs, I will keep on applying. But not until after I’ve taken a break from the madness that is job hunting.

Awesome idea – I wish you all the best and good luck finding a job. I’m curious, what type of jobs are you going for?

Question is: what do you “really” want to do? 😊
